This position will serve as the central point of contact for all financial aid compliance activities, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and institutional regulations. This role involves developing, maintaining, and communicating the institution's Financial Aid Compliance Policy in alignment with current regulatory guidelines and strategic goals. This position will coordinate and monitor compliance with federal and state financial aid programs, ensuring that all documentation, reporting, and procedural requirements are met. Additionally, the analyst will provide training and guidance to financial aid staff and other campus departments, stay informed on regulatory changes, and advise senior leadership on necessary policy adjustments. Ultimately, this position will ensure that the institution's financial aid programs operate in full compliance while supporting the College's overall mission and goals.
Responsibilities and Duties:
* Conduct compliance tests across financial aid programs to ensure adherence to federal regulations and internal policies.
* Stay informed of updates from the U.S. Department of Education and legislative changes and maintain alignment with the latest policies.
* Revise policies to reflect updates in federal, state, and institutional regulations, ensuring compliance at all levels.
* Manage compliance issues with higher education agencies and third-party organizations.
* Oversee financial aid fraud and abuse cases.
* Ensure all office procedures and business transactions follow all relevant legal requirements per student aid regulations.
* Responsible for maintaining an ongoing regulatory training program assuring regulatory awareness and operational effectiveness and maintenance of financial aid calendar to ensure timely reporting.
* Annually assess and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve student experience.
* Ensure compliance with DOE and THECB reporting by collecting and submitting data related to federal and state financial aid programs. Work closely with various departments to ensure data is consistent with regulatory guidelines.
* Manage financial aid disbursements from PowerFAIDS to ensure accurate transfer to the business office and compliance with Department of Education requirements.
* Other duties as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change based on the needs of the department and the institution.
