VISTA Leader for Growing Household Income

This position is within The Collaborative's Nonprofit Capacity Building work, the Growing Household Income VISTA project. This project affords North Carolina nonprofits an opportunity to host an AmeriCorp VISTA to build capacity around issues of poverty within their organization. In this capacity the VISTA Leader will: -Manage VISTA training and professional development -Lead monthly professional development conference calls with VISTAs -Edit and distribute online newsletter of VISTA activities to communicate with colleagues, nonprofit organizations, community leaders, and funders -Support VISTAs in managing on-site challenges to ensure a positive experience -Strategize for local partnership creation -Coordinate collection of data from VISTAs -Assist the Executive Director in resource development activities supporting the Growing Household Income project -Manage social media as related to GHI VISTA -Support and attend The Collaborative's education and professional development convenings. -Attend meetings in Raleigh targeted to employment and microenterprise development -Cultivate relationships with local workforce development groups The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is a good team player with the ability work collaboratively and independently. This person will need to manage their assigned tasks, have a positive attitude and the ability to lead, plus a commitment to anti-poverty efforts. Member Duties : In this capacity the VISTA Leader will: -Support a VISTA group of 12 VISTAs placed across North Carolina -Manage VISTA training and professional development -Lead monthly professional development conference calls with VISTAs -Edit and distribute online newsletter of VISTA activities to communicate with colleagues, nonprofit organizations, community leaders, and funders -Support VISTAs in managing on-site challenges to ensure a positive experience -Strategize for local partnership creation -Coordinate collection of data from VISTAs -Assist the Executive Director in resource development activities supporting the Growing Household Income project -Manage social media as related to GHI VISTA -Support and attend The Collaborative's education and professional development convenings. -Attend meetings in Raleigh targeted to employment and microenterprise development -Cultivate relationships with local workforce development groups
