REPORTS TO: Corrugator Supervisor/ Corrugator Superintendent
SUMMARY
Responsible for all activities associated with safely operating and caring for the Clamp Truck. Ensuring Roll Stock is undamaged, and the Roll Room is maintained organized. As well as consistently bringing correct size and paper grade rolls to Corrugator Wet End to be ran.
Shift :
2nd Shift , Monday - Friday ( 2PM - 10PM) or (6AM - 6PM)
Weekends (As Needed)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Take rolls of paper to the corrugator, always taking buttrolls first, and record all rolls taken to the corrugator on the proper forms.
- Learn to read corrugator lineups.
- Mark buttrolls as to the size, diameter, lineal footage, and grade before returning to stock.
- Unload rolls from trailers and/or rail cars. Check for and note any physical damage to the rolls.
- Operate the clamp truck in a safe manner.
- Complete Lift Inspection Report at the beginning of each shift and turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs.
- Keep Roll Stock Room organized and clean.
- Turn in roll stock tallies to the Corrugator Supervisor or Corrugator Superintendent.
- Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed.
- Adhere to daily production schedule to meet cost, quality, delivery, and service goals.
- Assist the Corrugator Operator as instructed by supervision.
- Assist in the wet end training of the double backer and dry end personnel.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, and maintain good housekeeping.
- Additional duties may be assigned by management.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED preferred
Candidates are PREFERRED who offer the following:
Prior work experience in the corrugated industry.
Prior industrial power truck or heavy equipment operating experience.
6 months experience on the wet end of the corrugator.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
The individual must have a working knowledge of the following:
- Product layouts and production specifications (Height, Width, Grade)
- Product quality specification
- Intermediate/Advanced ability to utilize computer software such as: Microsoft Outlook, Printer, and a touch screen interface.
- Intermediate/Advanced knowledge utilizing a Clamp Truck to stack, load, and unload cylindrical objects of various weight.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is required to sit for long periods of time. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to hot and/or humid as well as cold conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, vibrations, louder than normal environments, and high paced atmosphere.
