**The Role**

Driver Class C operates a light duty truck, which is less than three tons rated capacity and usually has two axels to transport light loads for relatively short distances.

This position will report to the: Operations Manager

Location: Cranbury, NJ

Travel Requirement: 80 - 100%

FLSA Status: Non - exempt

**What You'll be Responsible For in this Role**

In this role you'll be responsible for the following:

+ Drives truck to destination.

+ Maintains physical security of cargo to prevent shifting and damage.

+ Prepares receipts for material delivered.

+ Collects payments for goods delivered and for delivery charges when required.

+ Maintains truck log, according to state and federal regulations.

+ Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water.

+ Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.

+ Loads and unloads truck.

+ Performs emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, tire chains, and spark plugs.

+ Unloads product at customer's facilities.

+ Inspects product and checks accuracy of both product and quantities delivered.

+ Picks up product at customers and suppliers, checks product and quantities for accuracy.

+ Processes clear and accurate paperwork.

+ Operates auxiliary equipment mounted on truck such as hydraulics, hoist, etc.

+ Performs other duties and/ or responsibilities as assigned.

**What We're Looking For**

**Education and Experience:**

+ High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

+ Minimum of 2-years local city delivery experience

+ Class C license

+ Acceptable DMV report

+ Must be forklift certified within sixty days from hire

**Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:**

+ Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.

+ Ability to write simple correspondence.

+ Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, commonfractions, and decimals
