Atlas is seeking a Payroll Director for our headquarters in Austin, TX. (Bee Cave area). The individual will oversee the Payroll Department and its various functions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

* Oversee payroll operations
* Initiate and implement process improvements and efficiencies related to payroll process.
* Ensures Timely Processing/Delivery of payroll cycles for the Hourly and Salary employees. Oversee and direct the processes of the completed payroll cycle to ensure deadlines are met with completeness and accuracy. Reviews payroll register to ensure all entries have been captured and represented on the payroll accurately
* Ensure Company compliance with Fair Wage and Labor Standards Acts. Responsible for adhering to federal, state, and local laws/guidelines and monitoring any changes; advising management on actions needed
* Lead, manage and develop a team of payroll professionals located throughout the US
* Monitor KPIs that meet the needs of the business
* Maintain leading edge knowledge of the payroll discipline and be an internal expert for compliance issues
* Ensure that the calculation of earnings and other payments are timely, accurate and in compliance with Federal and state
* Ensure that payroll transactions are properly classified and in compliance with accounting principles and internal/external audit requirements
* Maintain financial controls and audit trails for all transactions
* Manage third party vendor relationships
* Interface with HR and Accounting groups on a regular basis to ensure data integrity and proper accounting of transactions
* Oversee accounting journal entries and inter-company reimbursements (funding and cash requests, wire requests, bank reconciliations, suspect check reports, and quarterly tax reconciliations)
* Troubleshoot and work with the IS Department on all system related initiatives and upgrades as well as installations
* Identify and implement opportunities for automation
