Student Laboratory Technician

Salary/Position Classification

* $18.00 Hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
* 10-20 hours per week
* 100% Remote Work Availability: No
* Hybrid Work Availability: No

Purpose of Position

To perform laboratory technical duties in support of Dr. Brissette's NIH-funded research in the School of Medicine & Health sciences. This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

Duties & Responsibilities

* Prepare media, reagents and stock solutions
* Wash and autoclave laboratory glassware
* Prepare records and reports of laboratory analysis, test results and interpretations
* Maintain bacterial cultures - (Essential)

Required Competencies

* Willingness to learn and develop new techniques
* Proficiency with MS Office software.

Minimum Requirements

* B.S. degree in biology or related field
* At least 2 years molecular biology experience such as qPCR
* Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working with bacterial culture
* Experience working with mice
