Bicycle Mechanic

Summary

The bicycle mechanic will ensure the mechanic safety of our bikes for guest usage.

Job Duties

* Assemble new bikes and perform quality control checks
* Ability to match customers with the bike, equipment and accessories that best fit their physical needs and ability levels
* Repair bikes to the highest of standards, including assessing damage and estimating repairs (from complete overhauls to quick walk-in repairs)
* Conduct routine and preventative maintenance on bicycles (e.g., cleaning, changing tires, make adjustments).
* Keep a detailed service log and input all maintenance documentation on software for tracking and inventory management
* Respond to customer requests for assistance or repairs.
* Maintain proper maintenance inventory and supplies.
* Ability to diagnose bike issues and recommend additional parts & labor when necessary
* Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications.
* Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines (e.g., to identify defects).
* Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
* Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.
* Attention to customer service with a professional and pleasant personality.
* Available to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
* Maintain a clean and tidy workspace
* Ability to train staff on bike repairs

REQUIREMENTS

* Working knowledge of how bikes are assembled and repaired
* Familiarity with all types of bikes and bike accessories
* 1+ years of work experience with bicycles (electric or not)
* Experience with assembly and maintenance of electric components of a bike
