Diagnostic Test Scheduler

**SUMMARY**
Responsible for coordinating patient procedures/diagnostic appointments. Streamline medical testing and related procedures, increasing patient satisfaction and utilizing staff efficiently.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Triages patient's needs for timeliness of appointments based upon criteria provided by physician
+ Gathers insurance information and patient personal data to coordinate procedures and streamline medical testing and related procedures
+ Review physician requested tests to evaluate when patient can be scheduled with various departments (if any) reducing the patient's wait time and informing personnel of the comprehensive testing
+ Verify insurance coverage for patients, and get prior authorizations
+ Provide information to patient regarding any specific instructions before testing, such as fasting on the night before testing, taking a specific medication, or temporarily stopping medications to ensure they don't interfere with results
+ Schedule procedures in EMR and notify surgery center
