PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Planner-Scheduler is the liaison between Purchasing, QA Lab Management, and the Operations to ensure material flow and release in support of the Master Schedule. Responsibilities include data entry and maintaining the viability of data in the company's ERP system.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Creates and maintains production schedules
* Coordinates and develops production plans with the company's management team
* Performs pre-organization of production materials before the commencement of production
* Supervises schedules and workflow to ensure that deliveries are made in a timely manner
* Creates efficient scheduling processes or methods so as to attain production goals
* Prioritizes the sequence of production activities to meet the schedule while best utilizing the company's productive capabilities.
* Acts as a liaison between Purchasing, Logistics, Receiving, and QA Lab to ensure timely release of materials to support the production schedules.
* Interfaces with QA Lab Management, to support OTIF requirements.
* Identifies issues and potential production problems to ensure that adequate resources are identified and pursued to eliminate bottle necks and issues that may adversely impact the production schedule, sales plan, or other company goals.
* Maintains daily exception reports while adjusting production schedule as required.
* Identifies and notifies Quality and Receiving departments of deliveries that require expedition in receipt, sampling, testing and release to meet production goals.
* Utilizes ERP system and any other peripheral planning systems to optimize the planning processes.
* Participates and contributes to team projects and NPI.
* Performs as Master Scheduler in times of absence or extreme workload as required by the Director Supply Chain.
* Update master data as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

* 3-5 years experience in scheduling and planning.
* Excellent communication skills on all fronts (listening and speaking)
* Must possess good interpersonal skills to be able to get along well with other workers (cohesion)
* Must have good coordination and organizational abilities.
* An understanding of production and workflow through a manufacturing plant.
* Must display a high level of good leadership qualities
* Must have good time management abilities
* Must understand the basics of customer care
* Willingness to work as part of a team or even lead a team when called upon
* Ability to multitask if need be and display flexibility while carrying out duties
* Must have a basic knowledge of computer software and operation
* Must be familiar with logistics planning software
* A bachelor's degree in supply chain management or any related discipline

Preferred Additional

* Experience in a pharmaceutical environment.
* ERP experience a plus.

CRITICAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

* Excellent mathematical skills
* Ability to make decisions based on product need, personnel, and equipment capacity.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Technical Skills and Experience (if applicable)

* MRP / ERP, Computerized production planning experience.
* Ability to work with a personal computer (ex. Microsoft Word, Excel, Project).
* Scheduling systems experience desired.

Education and/or Training

* Bachelor's degree in Business, related field, or equivalent experience.
