Tax Accounting Manager

Responsibilities:

* Preparation and review of quarterly and annual SEC tax provisions, tax footnotes, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
* Prepare and review corporate federal, state, and local income tax returns, ensuring compliance with all tax laws and regulations.
* Develop tax strategies to optimize the company's tax position and ensure tax efficiency.
* Conduct complex tax research and analysis to support business initiatives and tax planning strategies.
* Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management, and create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation.
* Provide guidance on the tax impact of business combinations, acquisitions, and divestitures.
* Collaborate with accounting and finance departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and proper tax accounting.
* Manage and mentor tax staff, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
* Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors during audits and consultations.
* Support the CFO and finance leadership with tax-related financial analysis and projections.
* Handle tax correspondence and negotiate with tax authorities when necessary to resolve disputes or audits.
* Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures in the tax function.

Essential Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
* 10+ years' experience in tax accounting, with a focus on corporate tax, international tax, and/or tax compliance.
* Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance, and procedures for corporations.
* Experience working in a public company and/or public accounting firm.
* Proficiency with tax software and familiarity with accounting and financial reporting systems.
* Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
* Strong leadership abilities and experience in managing a team.
* Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals.
* CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or similar is preferred
