Job Details:

General Notes

The Postdoctoral researcher will assist with research participant recruitment, data collection, data analysis, manuscript preparation, and general laboratory and research project management. They will also manage and supervise research personnel and graduate/undergraduate students. The initial assignment will end on 3/31/2025. Appointment may be extended for an additional year contingent on performance and funding.

Purpose

The purpose of this position is to carry out research activities under supervision of Dr. Sara Hussain in the Sensorimotor Neuroplasticity Laboratory for a research project evaluating personalized brain state-dependent neurostimulation in healthy adults and stroke survivors.

Responsibilities

* Data collection, involving transcranial magnetic stimulation, electroencephalography, electromyography, and behavioral testing
* Data analysis, requiring use of MATLAB/Python
* Manuscript/grantwriting and presentation of results at scientific conferences
* Student supervision; supervision of PhD, MS, and undergraduate students
* Administrative work/troubleshooting; including research participant recruitment and scheduling, troubleshooting technical problems, and IRB protocol submission/management

Required Qualifications

* PhD in psychology, movement science, neuroscience, engineering, or related discipline within the last 3 years
* Experience with either transcranial magnetic stimulation, digital signal processing, or machine learning
* Human subjects' research experience
* Strong programming (Matlab or Python), analytical, and quantitative skills
* Previous experience writing and publishing manuscripts
* Ability to work well independently and with a group

Preferred Qualifications

* Previous research publications during graduate school as first author (2-3 either published or in review)
* EEG experience
* Research experience working with either older adults or patient populations
* Previous supervisory experience

Salary Range

* $56,000.00
