Position Purpose
Applications are being sought for a full-time assistant professor of Criminal Justice courses teaching introductory and upper-division courses. The program of study for the Criminal Justice and Homeland Security degrees may be reviewed in the university catalog.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
* Subject matter expertise in Homeland Security, including intelligence, terrorism, and emergency management.
* Demonstrated interpersonal/intrapersonal skills, especially in engaging with traditional and non-traditional university students.
* Evidence of high level of personal agency and initiative.
* Ability to advise and mentor students regarding educational and career goals.
* Successful use of multiple creative instructional strategies and technologies in the classroom and online to improve educational outcomes of diverse learners.
* Background of working with diverse groups of colleagues and constituents to collaboratively maintain and improve programming.
Experience
* Evidence of rigorous, creative, and effective teaching at the collegiate level.
* Applicants with previous law enforcement experience are preferred, especially in Homeland Security.
Education
* Completed master's or terminal degree in Criminal Justice or related field. Ph.D. preferred.
Additional Information
* Available for Fall and Spring semesters on site at the main campus in Lebanon, TN.
