Position Purpose

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a part-time Greenhouse Assistant. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting day-to-day greenhouse operations, ensuring the health and vitality of our plants.

Organizational Relationships

Supervisor: Greenhouse and Field Trial Manager

Significant Relationships: Berry Blue Team

Accountabilities and Responsibilities
  1. Assist with plant care and maintenance including sowing, transplanting, watering, fertilizing, monitoring of weeds, insects, and disease development, soil and plant tissue sampling, and tagging of plants.
  2. Participate in the propagation of plants through various methods such as seeding and cutting.
  3. Ensure the greenhouse is clean and organized by sweeping, disinfecting, and performing general maintenance tasks.
  4. Maintain accurate records of greenhouse inventory including plants, seeds and supplies.
  5. Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve project objectives.


Requirements

  1. Previous experience in greenhouse and plant care is preferred.
  2. Able to grasp new concepts quickly.
  3. Able to work independently and in a team.
  4. Demonstrated attention to detail.
  5. Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  6. Knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft Word and Excel is preferred.
  7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  8. Flexibility with job requirements.
  9. Occasional overtime, weekend and holiday work may be required.
  10. Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
  11. Must be able to lift and carry 25-50lbs.

Location: Grand Junction, MI

Hours: Part-time, hourly, non-exempt
