Food Service Coordinator
Conway Public School District

Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in nutrition or related field
  2. Two years administrative and supervisory work experience in food service/child nutrition
  3. Knowledge of federal and state laws regarding food preparation and service

Reports to:
Food Service supervisor

Supervises:
Assigned Child Nutrition employees

Terms of Employment:
The contract length will be 240 days.

Evaluation:
Based on local district policy and Arkansas Department of Education guidelines, and performed by the Food Service supervisor.

Job Goal:
The Food Service Coordinator will endeavor to work cooperatively in administering the food service program at the District level in a positive, efficient, and effective manner to meet nutritional needs and program acceptability of students and staff in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Performance Responsibilities:
  1. Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.
  2. Assists in menu planning and development with the goal of increasing customer satisfaction and participation.
  3. Monitors school food production; checks for recipe and menu accuracy, sanitation, and food safety, portion control, and production record accuracy.
  4. Assists in the development of a marketing plan that promotes Food Service to students, parents, other school personnel, and the community.
  5. Coordinates the District's free-and-reduced program.
  6. Assists in employee training and development.
  7. Researches and submits applications for child-nutrition-related grants, when available and applicable to the District.
  8. Supervises and evaluates the performance of assigned Child Nutrition employees.
  9. Other duties, as assigned.
