POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for performing skilled tasks including all levels of field maintenance, troubleshooting, direct repairs, overhauls and scheduled preventative maintenance on all equipment involved in plugging operations.
* Ensure proper functioning of trucks, trailers, service rigs, and construction equipment via conducting routine maintenance and diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues.
* Perform scheduled preventative maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.
* Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
* Conduct regular inspections of equipment to identify maintenance needs, assess performance, and address any safety concerns.
* Repair or replace faulty components such as brakes, transmissions, and fuel systems.
* Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance tasks.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including maintenance logs, work orders, and equipment history.
* Order and stock maintenance and repair parts as needed.
* Adhere to all company safety practices, policies, and procedures when working on equipment.
* Comply with company policies and environmental and regulatory standards related to diesel engine maintenance and repairs.
* Ensure equipment is operating under current DOT and other state regulations.
* Handle emergency callouts as needed.
* Ensure active and open communication with field operations.
* Perform any other duties as requested or assigned, including occasionally assisting with non-plugging or special projects per direction of management.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
* High School Diploma or equivalent.
* Valid driver's license with good driving record.
* Proven experience in the maintenance and repair of plugging rigs and heavy equipment, preferably in the oil and gas industry or a related field.
* Strong technical knowledge of various plugging rig systems, heavy machinery, and mechanical/electrical systems.
* Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
* Solid understanding of safety regulations and protocols associated with plugging rigs and heavy equipment.
* Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Demonstrated attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
* Willingness to travel to visit work sites; occasionally requires extended travel to remote locations and/or overnight stay(s) outside normal office area.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, vendors, and contractors.
* Ability to work overtime and holidays as needed.
* Ability to be flexible with the shift schedule.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
* Wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required. This includes hard hat, safety glasses, FR clothing, respirators, earplugs, steel-toed shoes, or other protective equipment as required by the work performed and location the work is being done.
* Walking, stepping, climbing, or otherwise moving from one location on the job site to another.
* Visually seeing driving operations well (either naturally or with corrective lenses).
* Standing, stooping, kneeling, squatting, climbing, and sitting.
* Repetitive movements by feet, shoulders, arms wrists, hands and back in performance of work.
* Lifting 50lb objects or more occasionally.
* Adapting to outdoor conditions and prolonged exposure to sometimes adverse weather conditions.
