Are you a passionate and experienced leader looking for a rewarding career in veterinary medicine? Look no further than VCA Veterinary Specialists of CT We are seeking a talented Hospital Director to oversee our facility, which provides critical, emergency, primary care to pets.

As our Hospital Director, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our large veterinary hospital, including surgical and emergency services. You will have the opportunity to work with a team of skilled veterinarians, technicians, and support staff who are committed to delivering the highest standard of care to our patients.

At VCA Veterinary Specialists of CT, we prioritize a culture of excellence and support for our Associates. As the Director, you will have the chance to foster a positive and collaborative working environment that values local input and decision-making. You will work closely with our Leaders/Supervisors and Medical Director to achieve our goals and uphold our commitment to exceptional service.

What you will be doing but not limited to:

* Accountability for the hospital profit & loss statements


* Responsibility to foster a collaborative and positive culture and work environment


* Focus on exceeding client expectations


* Oversight of Leaders/Supervisors and Medical Director who support approximately 80 associates including doctors, technicians, veterinary assistants, and paraprofessional staff


* Develop and grow future leaders


* Oversight and development of onboarding, training, and continuity programs


* Cultivate relationships within the veterinary community


* Support the recruitment of medical professionals



Who we are looking for:

* Prior specialty/emergency veterinary management knowledge is a plus.


* Strong leadership skills to develop a solid team and proven success in engaging with veterinary professionals


* Excellent analytical and organization skills, with strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities


* Prior leadership for a specialty hospital or multi-site operational business


* Proven experience building high performing teams


* Ability to multi-task and deal with high levels of stress in an environment of changing priorities


* Experienced record of generating revenue growth and ability to balance short-term needs and priorities while building for the future



Special Working Conditions:

* Flexibility in schedule and hours of availability


* The environment where pets are present


* Periodic travel required
