THIS IS A PART-TIME GRANT-FUNDED POSITION LOCATED IN KNOXVILLE, TN (20 HOURS PER WEEK)

JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Early Interventionist provides direct developmental therapy services through home or community-based environments and/or virtually to through a contract with the Tennessee Early Intervention System (TEIS).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Provides direct patient care under the guidelines of TEIS.
* Implements services with children and families using knowledge of strategies of Family Guided Routines Based Intervention (FGRBI).
* Completes routinely scheduled assessments using the Social Communication Emotional Regulation Transactional Supports (SCERTS) and Assessment, Evaluation, and Programming System (AEPS).
* Manages program data using Tennessee's Early Intervention Data System (TEIDS) related to grant requirements.
* Manages patient charts including session documentation, correspondence, records request, letters to other professionals, and maintains files in compliance with licensure regulations.
* Establishes and maintains collaboration with other professionals providing services for PLC clients, including attendance at Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) meetings, Transition meetings, and Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings.
* Attends PLC professional meetings; participates in activities to remain current with evidence-based practice needed for programming and to maintain grant requirements.
* Travels to home and community sites to provide services as indicated on the children's IFSP (If TEIS determines home-visiting to be safe).
* Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Speech Language Pathology, Early Childhood Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Child and Family Studies (child development), Early Intervention, Deaf Education or Visual Disabilities, Special Education K-12, Elementary Education, Communication Disorders or related field. (Master's preferred) (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years documented experience working with children with disabilities 0-5 years of age and their families. Must have a valid Driver's License and car insurance. Child safety registry searches will be conducted (Required by TEIS).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

* Ability and skill to provide assessment/treatment services to children with developmental disabilities.
* Knowledge of basic communication principles and parameters.
* Skilled in implementing clinical practices of developmental therapy.
* Ability to display an attitude of sensitivity to the needs of clients as members of larger familial, cultural, linguistic, and social systems.
