The Psychologist/Assessment Coordinator provides culturally responsive mental health services to a diverse student population including clinical assessment service delivery, supervision and training, and consultation and outreach. They make clinical recommendations and actions based on psychological knowledge, thoughtful consideration of diagnostic and contextual factors and theory driven/evidence based practices. The Psychologist/Assessment Coordinator must work well with students of color, LGBTQ+ students, international students, and other underrepresented students and communities on campus in both testing/clinical roles and administrative/coordination roles.

Ideal candidates for the Psychologist/Assessment Coordinator will have strong grounding in the science and practice of psychological evaluation and psychometrics as well as awareness and curiosity about the influences of cultural, linguistic, socioeconomic, neurobiological and educational factors on cognitive function. Job responsibilities include: (1) assessment program coordination and technical oversight (approx 15%) (2) acquisition and maintenance of assessment materials and instruction to assessment team staff regarding use of assessment materials (approx 10%); (3) recruitment and selection of assessment practicum trainees (approx 10%); (4) supervision and training oversight of assessment practicum trainees (approx 15%); and (5) comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation of ADHD and learning disorders including test administration and report writing, and screening/consultative procedures with students to inform assessment and/or other clinical intervention or referral (approx 50%).

Broadly, the Psychologist/Assessment Coordinator works collaboratively on an interdisciplinary team of professionals to meet the diverse mental health needs of a global student community. They are an active and curious participant in staff and clinical team meetings, professional development and clinical in-service activities, as well as involvement with Student Affairs programs/activities and university-wide committees/projects. The Psychologist/Assessment Coordinator may provide outreach programs for students and faculty/staff and will oversee these opportunities for assessment practicum students. They are responsible for regularly consulting with SHAC staff with regard to executive functioning, learning concerns, and diagnosis and treatment in these areas. They also may consult with faculty/staff regarding student mental health concerns with a particular emphasis on cognition, neurodevelopment, and learning.
