Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Intern - Summer 2024

Job Summary / Purpose of the Position:

This position is responsible for assisting Marotta's EHS Manager with planning, developing, and implementing company procedures and programs to ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations. The position requires effective interaction with a broad spectrum of people to successfully support the organization.

Responsibilities:

* Assists with development and implementation of environmental, health, and safety procedures.
* Drives and manages an EHS project, with a 3-month scope, from inception to completion.
* Performs inspections with EHS Manager to evaluate, identify, and document environmental, safety, health, and other workplace risks and assists with determining and completing related corrective actions.
* Abides by our safety, health, quality, housekeeping, and company policies/procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal system requirements.
* Assists with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) management and maintenance.
* Contributes to a positive and cooperative work environment through effective communication.
* Actively participates in team meetings, improvement initiatives/programs, etc. and supports actions to drive company initiatives and goals.
* Performs other EHS related duties as assigned.

Education:

* Working towards a degree in Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety or related field is required.

Required Qualifications:

* Proficient in interpreting technical data, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
* Knowledgeable with workplace health, safety, and environmental regulations.
* Self-motivated with ability to effectively interface with various personnel through written and verbal communication.
* Advanced organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
* Ability to interact with EHS, the facilities/maintenance team, and other core partners.
* Must be a US Citizen.

Work Environment:

* This job takes place in both office and manufacturing environments. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, copiers, and filing cabinets, as well as industrial environments that may require the use of eye, hearing, head, and foot protection.

This position is at our Montville, NJ office location.
