Recertification Specialist

Tysons Towers Apartments, a fast-paced senior affordable housing apartment community in Tysons Corner, VA is seeking a Recertification Specialist to join our team. The Recertification Specialist is expected to know and reference HUD regulation regarding Section 8 and RAD Programs. The preferred candidate will have their COS, and knowledge of the Yardi software system along with other IT systems.
Responsibilities:
- Process Initial, Annual, and Interim recertification's for 274 units in a timely manner.
- Calculate rents for annual and interim recertification.
- Meet with residents to identify households with income reporting discrepancies and make rent-adjustments as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all HUD, Tax Credit and/or other regulatory requirements related to the property's funding sources.
- Utilizing EIV and correcting discrepancies.
- VH reporting, but no tax credit knowledge needed.
- Maintain resident files according to compliance standards.
- Manage workload, ensure all re-certifications are completed in timely manner.
- Review monthly recertification list with supervisor to ensure timely completions.
- Ensure detailed notes are place in the computer system and resident files.
- Effectively maintain the waiting list
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Project Based Section 8 and LIHTC
- Must have knowledge of HUD/Public Housing/Tax Credit policies and procedures
- Experience working in senior living establishments preferred
- Detail oriented and the ability to operate on a deadline driven schedule
- Possess strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
- COS certification, preferred
- TCS certification, preferred
- Have a valid driver's license.
- Knowledge of Yardi, evaluate Background Checks, Social Media, and other IT systems that promote knowledge and upgrades to the standards in the industry.

Physical abilities/Working Conditions:
- Physical ability to operate a telephone, computer, sit for extended periods of time and occasionally lift/carry up to 20 lbs.
