OSF will invest in you on day 1 Candidates with 5+ years of direct experience will receive 24 hours of Vacation and Holiday time that will be available for use beginning day 1. This is in addition to our generous time-off benefits.

Expected pay:

CRT starting at $26.46 - $31.13

RRT starting at $30.58 - $35.98

Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.

This position also includes an evening shift differential of $3.00/hr and a weekend differential of $3.25/hr.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Respiratory Therapist works in accordance with evidenced based policies and procedures of the Medical Center with all patient populations. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide respiratory therapy to patients as ordered by the prescribing physician that is appropriate to all the ages of the patients served. In accordance with established policies and procedures, administers medical gases, medications, airway clearance, mechanical ventilation, other respiratory modalities, monitor levels of supplies and equipment for department and patient care areas. Applies theoretical knowledge to care of neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients with other members of the healthcare team by demonstrating competence in respiratory skills, problem solving, and critical thinking that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

* Associate's degree, Successful completion of respiratory therapy program from an accredited school.

Experience:

* Must have basic electronic medical record documentation skills.

Licensure/ Certification:

* BLS required, NRP after 6 months of hire. Must be a credentialed Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care.
* Must have a current Respiratory Care Practitioner license and current National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) credentials if credentialed after July 1, 2002 or a new graduate therapist must successfully pass both the NBRC TMC (The Multiple Choice) and CSE (Clinical Simulation Exam) exams. Proof of Application must be made for appropriate state licensure before orientation to the department can begin. Licensure must be obtained within six months of hire for new graduates per the Licensure Practice Act.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Licensure/ Certification: BLS preferred for MSS
