AdventHealth Rocky Mountain Region is seeking a PRN Pain Management Psychologist with a Doctorate in Psychology to treat patients with emotional, behavioral, and mental health disorders. This position will be based at AdventHealth Avista in Louisville, CO

This PsychD will assess patients for Medication management as well as Spinal Cord Stimulators. Sessions may be one-to-one, group therapy, or sessions involving family members. As part of the counseling process, they may refer patients out to other specialists, conduct interviews, testing and risk assessment sessions with patients to evaluate their mental condition and formulate a treatment plan.

**Job Description**

+ Utilizes evidence-based interventions to assist patients, families, and significant others in coping with the psychosocial aspects of illness and its treatment.

+ Assessment of disorders and establisment of an appropriate treatment plan, including consultation when indicated.

+ Determines realistic goals for psychotherapy and performs psycho-diagnostic evaluations.

+ Intervention in urgent and emergent mental health problems.

+ Develops treatment plans in collaboration with additional care team members.

+ Consults with physicians, patient, hospital staff, family members or significant others in a timely manner to facilitate resolution of identified barriers to treatment progress to ensure the continuity of care.

+ Documents psychological intervention and maintains pertinent records of psychological intervention, assessment, testing, diagnostic impression and treatment

+ Assesses patient for behavioral health needs as needed and provides referrals for behavioral services

+ Maintains knowledge of current federal, state, and other regulatory agencies in the areas of quality, performance, utilization and patient care.

+ Reports suspected abuse and neglect to Child Protective Services and Adult Protective Services as required.

+ Develops and maintains internal and external contacts that enhance effective relationships for the hospital. Develops a working relationship with community organizations to establish maximum resources available to patients.

+ Attends conferences/workshops pertaining to departmental activities.

+ Maintains BLS and CPI certifications.

Qualifications

+ Graduation from an accredited Doctoral Degree program in clinical Psychology or equivalent

+ Licensed Clinical Psychologist Doctor, i.e. PhD

+ Licensed and certified Psychologist, State of Colorado.

+ At least two (2) years of post-graduate experience as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in an inpatient setting is preferred.

+ Experience should include individual, group, and family therapy and discharge planning in an acute care psychiatric setting

+ Knowledgeable about community services and the ability to make appropriate referrals as needed.

+ Knowledgeable about adequate safeguards for the private nature of the treatment relationship.

+ Ability to provide culturally competent service delivery in accordance with the APA Standards for Cultural competencies in Psychology Practice.

+ Advanced clinical practice skills.
