Job Summary and Qualifications

The Respiratory Therapist coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. As a vital part of the patient care team, the Respiratory Therapist performs a variety of diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures and monitors patients receiving invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation.

* Current Florida Registered Respiratory Therapist licensure
* American Heart Association BLS health care provider required
* . ACLS, PALS and NRP within 6 months of hire.
* Graduate of Respiratory Care program accredited by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).
* Frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling and moving equipment.
* Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
* Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate actions in volatile situations.
* Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.

Your duties and responsibilities may include:

* You will be responsible for the application and operation of acute care ventilators used for continuous short and long-term mechanical ventilation.
* You must be self-directed in the absence of the full-time Team Leader.
* You will maintain all department and hospital records and enter accurate information into the hospital computer for the therapy as given.
* You will perform you procedures with care and empathy for our patients.

HCA Florida Largo Hospital is a 455-bed statutory teaching hospital serving Pinellas County and patients across Florida. It is part of HCA Florida Healthcare, a family of more than 650 sites of care. These services include advanced cardiac care ranging from minimally invasive heart procedures to heart transplantation.
