Responsibilities

* Accountable to assist the RN and surgeon in preparing for surgical procedures, assist in surgical procedures, and prepare for the next case
* Handle the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure
* Understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon
* Has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field

Qualifications

Job Requirements

* Current CST certification from NBSTSA
* CPR certified from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross

Preferred Job Requirements

* Previous work experience as a surgical tech
