Who We Are:

Mental Health Support Services (MHSS) provides mental health, developmental disabilities, and substance use disorder services for children and adults in Chesterfield County. The Adult Substance Use Services Outpatient Program seeks qualified applicants for a Services Supervisor position within our ASAM Level 1.0 Outpatient Clinic. The Services Supervisor oversees the delivery of integrated behavioral health services by promoting the wellness of individuals, their families, and the community through outreach, advocacy, treatment, and education. The ideal candidate for this position is an established mental health professional, a change agent with direct leadership and program development experience, and a great passion for creating and supporting a competent workforce that serves individuals impacted by substance use. We seek candidates who value diversity, inclusion, and compassionate care techniques as they are embedded in a community mental health outpatient program that supports trauma-informed care practices. The candidate will have experience with evidence-based therapy techniques, safety/risk assessment, and differential diagnosis assessment specific to substance use.

Minimum Education and Experience:

A master's degree in psychology, social work, rehabilitation counseling, nursing, or a related field; three years of increasingly responsible experience in the provision of Mental Health services, including two years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Considerable knowledge of theories, principles, and practices of community behavioral, prevention, and ID programming; of principles and techniques of prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of persons with behavioral health disorders; of relevant mental health laws. Ability to plan and organize a behavioral health project and components of a program; to interpret and apply county, state, and federal regulations, policies, and guidelines related to the assigned program; to communicate effectively orally and in writing; to operate a personal computer and related software and other standard office equipment; to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers; to supervise staff.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.

Depending on the position, a professional license may be required.

This position is considered Safety Sensitive and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

Job Duties:

The primary job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Provides leadership, clinical, and administrative supervision to a team of licensed therapists embedded within a large multidisciplinary team.
* Responsible for recruitment and onboarding of new staff to the program.
* Ensures the program meets CARF, Licensure, and Medicaid requirements by reviewing policies and procedures and performing quality assurance review of charts.
* Collaborates with internal agency programs related to referrals to the program, staff training, and the development of agency-wide initiatives.
* Works closely with the leadership team and staff to continually develop the program by assessing needs, researching and implementing evidence-based practices, and making strategic decisions to improve program quality and outcomes.
* Establishes and maintains relationships with other community stakeholders and service providers, including community corrections and social services.
* Manages inquiries from the community regarding treatment resources and referrals and promotes the program at various community events.
* Maintains a small caseload of consumers for individual therapy and provides coverage of assessments and groups as needed. Perform other work as required.

The position requires excellent interpersonal skills, ability to communicate orally and in writing, flexibility and response to changing priorities, and skills in navigating technology, including documentation in an Electronic Health Record.

While the agency offers telehealth services to participants in the program, this position does not currently include the option for a remote work schedule.
