Job Summary: The position of Lead Bartender is responsible for leading the bar team in providing an above and beyond service experience and to ensure that all guests are served beverages and/or food in a timely, friendly, and high-quality way. This position is responsible for training new bartenders and barbacks to ensure all services are rendered as per company standards. This position is expected to lead by example for the bar and service team by showing others how to treat internal and external guests.

Job Responsibilities:

* Works with Manager to develop, cost and execute cocktail, wine and beer menus


* Assists Manager with inventory of beverages, ordering and maintaining par levels, maintaining cost margins, and recipe creation


* Assists Manager with the scheduling of all bartenders


* Leads an alcohol training topic each month at the Departmental Meeting


* Ensure consistency in drink preparation to recipe


* Must possess an advanced knowledge of cocktails (classic and modern) and continue to stay abreast of trends


* Mentor and train fellow bartenders, barbacks and servers


* Oversee freshness in product, enforcing FIFO


* Maintain Safe Staff Certification, adhering to all DABT laws within


* Report all maintenance issues via Alice, in a timely manner


* Develop the seasonal cocktail menu including the creation of new cocktails


* Complete the liquor, beer, wine, & product inventory


* Coordinate alongside Food & Beverage managers to order the needed liquor, beer, wine & products


* Maintain an active relationship with liquor, beer, and wine vendors


* Participate in end of the month inventories including inventory count and input of inventory


* Plan and prepare for upcoming shifts by picking up/counting bank


* Prep the bar at the beginning of shifts {Cut fruits, make purees, stock juices and other produce, prepare all supplies (cups, napkins, silverware), and fill (and keep filled) ice wells}


* Greet all guests upon approaching the bar areas


* Keep the bar clean and sanitized throughout shift


* Train and follow through with bar staff on the standards of service


* Restock beer, liquor, and any other needed items throughout shift


* Wipe and clean all bottles, wells, and surfaces


* Complete the end of day paperwork


* Remove and dispose of trash in the outside dumpster


* Lead pre-shift meetings with the team to ensure all staff are ready and prepared for their shift



Qualifications

Education and Experience:

* Must have at least two years' experience in a bartending role


* One-year experience in a supervisory capacity is preferred


* Sufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels and communicate with guests about job-related needs.


* Food Handlers Certification


* Alcohol Awareness Certification


* Must be atleast 18 years of age to serve alcohol

* Ability to create cocktails that follow edge cutting trends


* Ability to lead a team effectively and efficiently


* Ability to solve problems/conflicts individually
