Job Summary:
The Director, Lead of Medical Education & External Engagement (Professional Medical Organization and Patient Advocacy) will be responsible for developing and implementing Mural Oncology's medical education and external engagement strategies and programs as an expert contributor in medical education and an influential partner in external engagement for re-imagined cytokine-based immunotherapies in cancer treatment, with internal cross-functional support.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement a medical education strategy and external engagement strategy to deepen and diversify engagement with HCPs, patient advocacy organizations, and professional societies aligned with Mural Oncology's portfolio and strategy.
* Lead the creation of an overarching brand strategy for medical education and external engagement plans, aligning with brand strategic imperatives for pre-approval, launch, and commercialization to deepen understanding of disease awareness gaps, access and reimbursement barriers, post-marketing surveillance, adherence and persistency challenges, pathway education, and shared decision-making tools for HCPs, patients, and caregivers.
* Utilize best practices in supporting medical education and external engagement based on a clear understanding of scientific data and patient experience. Design and create processes, systems, solutions, and tools that will contribute to the effectiveness and success of the overall medical education and external engagement plans.
* Elevate the patient and caregiver perspective to ensure a patient-centric approach across the portfolio.
* Remain current on new developments in regulatory, legal, policy, and social media that impact the function and the Mural Oncology portfolio.
* Educate internal teams on the infrastructure and value of the function for specific disease areas of interest based on analysis of supported activities and measured outcomes and insights from medical education.
* Acquire feedback and perspectives from patients, caregivers, medical professionals, policymakers, and others, and apply gained insights to business decisions related to addressing HCP and patient needs and providing impactful solutions and services to support them.
* Attend and gain insights at patient advocacy and scientific conferences to further support MA strategy.
* Work closely with cross-functional teams such as Medical Affairs, Research, Development, Regulatory Affairs and Commercial to integrate medical education initiatives with overall business strategies.
* Develop and manage budgets for medical education and external engagement programs and initiatives.
* Ensure all medical education and external engagement activities comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Requirements:
* Advanced degree in medical and biosciences with 10+ years of experience in the pharma/biotech industry.
* 8+ years of experience in medical education and medical external engagement in the pharma/biotech industry for director, 10+ years for Senior Director with track record of successes.
* Deep knowledge and strong experience in Oncology.
* Understanding of regulatory guidelines related to medical education and medical external engagement.
* Strong leadership and management capabilities to lead medical education and medical external engagement programs and professionals.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
* Ability to analyze data and metrics to evaluate the impact and effectiveness of medical education programs.
* Strategic mindset to develop long-term medical education plans aligned with business objectives.
