QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's or advanced degree with teacher's certificate preferred. Previous head coaching experience is preferred, but not required. The ideal candidate will have a strong history of character and adult staff development. The field hockey head coach must realize and appreciate the need for the program to work with other sports as a complement to the entire athletic department, as well as a demonstrated commitment to the ideals of Catholic and Jesuit education. If a teaching or position is open in the school fitting a candidate's credentials, the coaching candidate may apply separately for that position if interested. All applicants must have a current resume with a fully completed application as directed below.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Ability to be available, organize and supervise practice sessions, off-season camps, and other activities that pertain to a complete field hockey program.
2. Support the school's Athletic Philosophy, particularly as it pertains to:
   • Athletic Code of Conduct
   • Formation
   • Academic Focus
   • Athletic Development
3. Hire and oversee coaching staff within the guidelines of the athletic department mission and handbook
4. Attend all mandated Saint Ignatius/IHSFHA coaching meetings and training sessions
5. Responsible for inventory, distribution and collection of uniforms and equipment
6. Maintain appropriate relationships and boundaries with student/athlete, parents, etc

REPORTS TO: Field Hockey Club Board and the Athletic Director

WORK SCHEDULE: Available weekdays from 3-7pm from August through October; including some Saturdays
