POSITION: Assistant Principal

QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES:

* North Carolina Principal's License (current or pending)
* Three or more years of successful teaching experience
* Strong instructional background and leadership skills
* Skills in building interpersonal relationships with students, staff, and parents
* Knowledge of curriculum, instructional strategies, and instructional data analysis.
* Skills necessary to assist in the development and implementation of all school programs

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Assist the principal in developing, implementing, and evaluating the instructional program
* Support school leadership in analyzing student achievement data to improve classroom instruction
* Assist with student discipline and help ensure a safe and orderly school
* Meet with students, parents, and staff for the purpose of interpreting and administering school and system policies and programs
* Participate with the principal in the management of the school and school activities
* Supervise evening and after school activities, as needed
* Assume responsibility for the school in the absence of the principal
* Perform other duties as assigned
