FRONTEND MANAGER

Described below are the major duties and responsibilities of a Frontend Manager. If you have any questions about this information, please ask your immediate supervisor.

I. Financial Performance

1. SPCH - Supervises department to ensure that SPCH goals are met or exceeded on a quarterly and year-to-date basis.

II. Store Operations

1. Customer Service - Manages customer service department to ensure that goals are met or exceeded for: (1) customer service audits, (2) 60-minute customer meetings, (3) 30 - second daily meetings, and (4) secret shoppers.

2. Operations Checklists - Manages department to insure that the following operational checklist items are accomplished: (1) monitors and maintains schedule, (2) monitors and maintains frontend equipment, (3) monitors bookkeeping and bookwork, (4) monitors service center activities, (5) monitors cashier operations checklist items, (6) monitors zone recovery sheets, (7) monitors cashier items per minute, (8) monitors and maintains lane/individual accountability policies, (9) monitors all audit procedures, (10) monitors check stand service reports, (11) monitors cashier open rights, (12) insures frontend cleanliness, and (13) monitors and insures frontend supply needs.

III. Management Skills

1. Performance Reviews - Provides thorough, high quality reviews to all direct-reports that accurately address performance issues.

2. Mentoring and Employee/Management Development - Jointly formulates annual professional development goals and plans for all direct-reports and reviews progress quarterly.

3. Training - Implements departmental training policies to insure that: (1) stated procedures are followed, (2) cross-training for associates is provided, and (3) follow-up training is conducted.

4. Discipline - Implements company disciplinary policies to ensure that associates are properly disciplined for: (1) call-offs and tardies, and (2) poor performance.

5. Communication - Communicates effectively with management, maintenance, scanning, signs, department managers, and department associates.
