Non-CDL Driver
Arnold Lumber Company is a full-service lumberyard offering building materials, a full line of masonry supplies, cabinetry, and a Kitchen & Bath Design Center Showroom with locations in Bristol, Wakefield, Westerly, and the Headquarters based in West Kingston.

PURPOSE:
To deliver material to the job site as scheduled by the dispatcher. Assists with the loading and storing of materials. Properly cares for and maintains the vehicle they are assigned to. Performs all duties in a safe and productive manner. Other duties assigned by the dispatcher.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Deliver materials to job sites as assigned and communicate with customers, employees, and supervisors.
- Verifies product, quality, and counts of loads.
- Organize and secures loads.
- Assist in keeping yard, warehouse, and vehicle neat and clean.
- Completes safety pre-check daily equipment inspections.
- Communicates any maintenance that may be required to the dispatcher and mechanic.
- Follow all operational procedures regarding invoicing, credits, inspection reports, and delivery tickets.
- Assists with unloading materials of returned items for credits.
- Reports any vehicle and/or property damage to the dispatcher immediately.
OTHER JOB DUTIES:
- Attends all required training and monthly safety meetings.
- Actively participates in the morning huddle meetings.
- All other duties Perform all other duties as assigned including carrying out responsibilities, performing duties, using skills, and working in conditions necessary to perform all assigned tasks.
Qualifications
COMPETENCIES/SKILLS:
- Good attention to detail.
- Ability to remain focused and calm.
- Good organizational skills.
- Ability to convey information in a prompt clear manner.
- Must be able to work outside year-round.
- 100% Local travel within the Northeast.
- Basic mechanical knowledge.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Frequently lifts, carries, pushes, and pulls materials. 50-85 pounds is commonplace.
- Exposed to inclement weather while working outside of the truck.
- Sometimes deal with sounds or noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable.
- Work close to others, especially when unloading trucks.
- Wears proper safety attire.
- Are occasionally exposed to bright or dim lighting conditions.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Drivers license and health card required. Must be insurable for driving and have a clean DMV record.
- Must be at least 21 years of age. Will be driving a commercial motor vehicle across state lines (interstate).
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- 40+ hour workweek. Must be available for overtime as needed.
- Six months of driving experience driving a truck.
