SafeHaven is seeking a Prevention Specialist- Elementary.

This position provides Primary Prevention activities and services to elementary-aged students, focusing on anti-bullying and anti-violence prevention curricula.

This position has significant responsibilities, including preparing, developing, and facilitating primary prevention strategies within Tarrant County ISD's. It will work with diverse students, families, and community members to present up-to-date, age-appropriate, evidence-based curricula on violence-related topics. This position also serves as a liaison for communities and organizations to promote domestic violence prevention opportunities and participates in community events to maintain community relationships. This position is responsible for scheduling and facilitating evidence-based multi-session programming, supporting data collection, and completing reports required by agencies and funders.

The specific qualifications for this role are:

  • A bachelor's degree in social work or a related field is required.
  • Public speaking experience required
  • Experience in education or community outreach preferred.
  • Experience in and knowledge of family violence theory preferred.
  • Must have excellent written and oral skills.
  • Must have reliable transportation and up-to-date driver's licenses with insurance.
  • Must be able to pass several school district background checks every year.
  • Flexible hours are required. Some evening and weekend work will be required.
