Responsibilities
The Acute Rehab Unit includes 14 private rooms and is helping people recover from conditions such as: Stroke, Orthopedic injury, Amputation, Trauma, Parkinson's disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Other neurological disorders, Bilateral joint replacement, Single joint replacement with specific criteria.
The interdisciplinary teams consist of Registered Nurses, Physicians, Physical Therapist, OT's, Speech Therapist, Dietitians and Social Worker.
Essential Functions:
* Ensures patient safety in the performance of job functions and through participation in hospital, department, or unit patient safety initiatives. Takes action to correct observed risks to patient safety.
* Reports adverse events and near misses to appropriate management authority.
* Implements policies, procedure, and standards consistently in the performance of assigned duties.
* Identifies possible risks in processes, procedures, devices and communicates the same to those in charge.
* Displays professional commitment and supports the unit team by promoting unity and teamwork among coworkers by maintaining a positive attitude and positive working relationships.
* Fosters a healing environment for patients and families.
* Assumes responsibility and authority for establishing a therapeutic relationship with the patient/ family and creating an individualized plan of care and evaluates patient's response and intervenes to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
* Integrates clinical reasoning and knowledge as the foundation for decision-making.
* Balances patient's rights and organization's responsibilities in providing professional and ethical care.
Schedule: Work a minimum of 48 hours per 6‐week schedule with at least 24 hours being weekend shifts on home unit.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:Nursing Diploma, required
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred
Licenses and Certifications:Registered Nurse in PA - Licensed, Upon hire, requiredBasic Life Support (BLS), Upon hire, required
