Seeking providers for a hybrid Therapeutic Mentor (TM) and Therapeutic Training and Support (TT&S) role, servicing the Metro Boston area. TM/TT&S staff are an integral part of the youths team, infusing their creativity and passion to make a difference in underserved communities, and help youth reach their full potential. This is a full-time, salary base plus position with excellent benefits.

TMs provide therapeutic skill-building support to children and adolescents ages 3-20, while working closely with the youths treatment providers. Services are fun and engaging, and include supporting, coaching, role-playing, and modeling. Meetings occur in natural environments within the community, that are comfortable for the youth and practical for achieving identified goals.

TT&S staff work collaboratively with the In-Home Therapy (IHT) Masters level clinician to provide in-home intensive, therapeutic wraparound services designed to stabilize families in crisis and reduce out of home placements.

The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of duties and responsibilities that will be required of positions given this title. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Travel daily without restriction to children's homes and within the community
  • Late afternoon/evening hours required
  • Must have a valid drivers license and car, and ability to operate a motor vehicle safely
  • Engage youth in home, school, and/or community activities to teach new strategies and skills that are linked to the youths treatment plan
  • Maintain at least weekly communication with family, therapeutic treatment team, and community collaterals to provide treatment progress updates
  • Provide collaborative in-home therapeutic support to youth and families
  • Assist families in identifying and utilizing community resources and natural supports
  • Ensure services are in line with IHCs philosophy of trauma informed care
  • Maintain accurate Electronic Medical Record (EMR), and follow clinical documentation timelines
  • Ensure that all services are provided in a professional and strengths-based manner
  • Meet agency productivity requirements and follow all agency safety protocols
  • Be available for phone calls from clients/families on weekdays 8 AM-8 PM
  • Participate in treatment team meetings as needed and, as appropriate, assist the youth in communicating their needs to the treatment team in Care Plan and school meetings
  • Ensure that all services are provided according to insurance Performance Specifications
  • Actively participate in weekly supervision and clinical team meetings
  • Commitment to the highest quality of client care
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • One of the following is required:
    • Bachelor degree in a human service field from an accredited university and 1 year of related experience working with youth OR
    • Associate degree in a human service field from an accredited school and 1 year of related experience with target population
  • Bilingual language capacity preferred
  • Passion for supporting youth struggling with social, emotional, and behavioral struggles
  • Demonstrated ability to model, teach, and support, with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Superior organizational skills, strong work ethic, and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to accept and provide constructive feedback
  • Sensitivity and respect for diversity in both clients and staff
  • Unique ability to connect with others, with clear healthy boundaries
  • Sound and appropriate judgment
  • Solid writing and documentation skills, as well as computer literacy
  • Maintain strictest confidentiality regarding clients, families, and employees; adhere to all HIPPA guidelines and regulations
  • Visual and hearing acuity to perform job related functions
