Job Title: RN Emergency Room Job Specialty: Emergency Department Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (every other weekend required) Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: 2 years of acute care RN experience License: IN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: Ability to read tele strips and titrate medication Job Description: - Work in a 33-bed Emergency Department, which is a chest pain accredited center and supported by an 8-bed Medical Center ER.- Handle approximately 100 patients per day, with 20% admissions and 20-30 daily EMS visits.- Provide care in a unit that includes dedicated beds for psychiatric emergencies and supports cardiac procedures.- Manage a patient ratio of 4:1.- Utilize common equipment such as IV pumps, bedside GE monitors, dinamaps, glucometers, bladder scanners, and Zoll defibrillators.- Perform procedures including IV insertion, blood draws, obtaining 12-lead EKGs, cardioversion/defibrillation, procedural sedation, CPAP/BiPAP, ventilator management, trach care, rapid infuser usage, and transcutaneous pacing.- Work with common medications such as epinephrine, levophed, cardizem, propofol, antibiotics, and heparin.- Transition to EPIC charting in February 2025. Current charting systems are Sunrise and Allscripts.- Wear galaxy blue scrubs. - Please note the workplace is not a designated trauma or stroke center, but it is equipped for 24-hour PCI for cardiac patients.
