The College of Built Environments (CBE) has an exciting opening for an Assistant Director for Advancement Services. This is a full-time, permanent position.

The Assistant Director for Advancement Services at the College of Built Environments (CBE) leads the strategic creation, implementation and management of several programs that are critical to enhancing public awareness, advocacy and private support for the CBE. As a key member of the CBE Advancement team, the Assistant Director for Advancement Services will lead and execute a yearly plan for annual philanthropy, gift processing and donor stewardship at all giving levels. This position will have extensive direct contact with the College's diverse internal and external audiences, including staff, faculty, donors and alumni.

What You Will Do:

Stewardship & Gift Services (55%)

* Create and execute a comprehensive donor stewardship plan.
* In collaboration with CBE fundraisers and colleagues, design and implement personalized stewardship plans for major and principal-level donors.
* Develop and coordinate monthly stewardship letters from the Dean and department chairs.
* Plan and manage impact reporting for the College. This will include conducting research, preparing written proposals and providing informational materials needed to increase donor involvement or to secure private gifts and grants.
* Serve as the primary liaison to the central Advancement team for Consolidated Endowment Fund reports, pledge payments and other stewardship projects; serve on the UW Advancement Stewardship Network as the CBE representative.
* Develop and implement annual gift fund and pledge payment audit processes, while working with the CBE Development team and College and department leadership to ensure proper spending and stewardship of all CBE gift funds.
* Collaborate with CBE's Marketing & Communications team to build and evaluate donor collateral, craft messages and identify appropriate feature stories.
* Conduct fund analyses and develop reports that highlight philanthropic impact and show progress towards CBE Advancement's strategic goals.
* Liaise with departments on Advancement best practices and strategies, including: training on processes, procedures, reports and templates associated with Advancement Services, consultation on audience/communication strategy, assistance with data management and reporting.
* Manage and implement the college's student and faculty award processes, coordinate with CBE Advancement and other internal stakeholders as needed.
* Manage a limited stewardship portfolio of CBE donors.
* Manage gift processing on behalf of the CBE.
* Work collaboratively with CBE fundraisers and colleagues to establish and/or alter gift funds and associated budgets.

Annual Philanthropy (40%)

* In partnership with the central Annual Philanthropy team, develop and execute an annual fundraising plan.
* Serve as the CBE's main liaison to the Annual Philanthropy team to carry out annual philanthropy activities such as Husky Giving Day, student calling, direct mail marketing and digital stewardship.
* Utilize data and participate cooperatively with the University's prospect management and tracking system to identify annual donors who might become major gift prospects for CBE.
* Create and develop reports, project analysis, graphics, spreadsheets and other customized collateral as needed.
* Serve on the UW Advancement Annual Philanthropy Roundtable as the CBE representative.

Other duties as assigned (5%)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

A bachelor's degree AND at least three years of progressively responsible experience in institutional development/advancement or fundraising.

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.

What You Bring:

* Knowledge of alumni relations/development/advancement principles.
* Familiarity with higher education institutions and working in a complex organizational environment.
* Knowledge of document management principles and systems.
* Demonstrated creativity, organizational ability and strong attention to detail.
* Proficiency working with fundraising or non-profit databases and Microsoft Word and Excel for the creation of correspondence, special reports, spreadsheets and forms.

What You Can Expect:

* Cubical/Open workspace environment which may result in higher levels of noise and visual distractions.
* Ability to work evening and weekend hours, as necessary, on short or limited notice.
* Ability to walk and stand for 4 or more hours continuously.
* Ability to work greater than a 10-hour day.
