UPMC Northwest is seeking a compassionate & dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Behavioral Health Unit, where you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care & support to our patients in a dynamic and rewarding environment.

Status: Flex Full Time (28-40 hours/week)

Shifts: Variable based upon the needs of the unit

**Responsibilities:**

+ Collaborate with healthcare team members to plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.

+ Communicate with licensed professional nurses regarding patient needs beyond LPN scope or expertise.

+ Create holistic care plans and establish daily goals with patient involvement.

+ Document patient conditions comprehensively to enhance caregiver communication.

+ Educate patients and families for effective care transitions and home readiness.

+ Support the orientation and development of new LPNs and patient care staff.

+ Identify and pursue opportunities for clinical quality and workplace improvements.

+ Build strong relationships with patients, families, and colleagues to achieve desired outcomes.

+ Maintain a healthy work-life balance and model safe work practice

+ Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

+ Ability to work effectively in a complex environment and manage multiple priorities.

+ Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and positioning of patients.

+ Proficiency in using electronic health records.

Licensure and Certifications:

+ Active LPN licensure in the state of practice or a multistate license from the Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC).

+ Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.

+ Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC) certification required within 60 days of hire/transfer.

+ Act 34 clearance required.
