**Summary of Essential Duties:**

+ The Echo Sonographer I is an entry level position that assists physicians in performing basic Echocardiographic imaging and other procedures.

+ Performs ultrasound imaging technologies for cardiac patients in an in-patient and out-patient setting.

+ Assists with detecting issues related to blood flow and heart ailments and escalates appropriately to physicians as they develop diagnoses and design patient treatment plans.

+ Receives mentorship until able to exercise competency in the use of all related ultrasound equipment and imaging protocols.

+ Responsible for maintaining a safe patient environment and ensures that the room and equipment are prepared, functional and stocked for assigned procedures.

**Qualifications**

**Education:**

+ High School Diploma or GED required

+ Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound school required

**License/Certifications:**

+ BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required

+ RDCS from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography or RCS issued by Cardiovascular Credentialing International preferred or willing to obtain within one year from start date

**Experience:**

+ A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer preferred

+ Applicants with at least 3 years of experience may be considered as an Echo Sonographer II
