HIL - Building Maintenance

The Building Maintenance Provides general and detailed maintenance (either with direct or indirect supervision), including patching, painting, hardware repairs, and other repairs/replacement work as required. Performs routine facility and equipment maintenance.
Responsibilities:
* Performing maintenance on HVAC (i.e. changing air filters, belts, grease).
* Keeping documents of inspections and problems.
* Construction skills such as carpentry, painting, masonry, plumbing, roofing, and welding.
* Performing overall building maintenance including painting, lighting, installing equipment, fixing ceiling tiles, and flooring.
* Proactively identifying maintenance issues and finding the best solutions to address issues.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Requires a complete understanding of all machinery including operating adjustments, maintenance and troubleshooting.
* Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills for fixing maintenance issues.
* Strong verbal and written communication for discussing maintenance issues.
* Organizational and time management skills.
* Minimum age: 18
* Must be able to pass a drug screen and physical.
Certificates/Licenses/Registrations:
* HVAC certification preferred but not required.
Education:
* High School Diploma or GED, or 2-3 years of relevant experience in facility maintenance.
Physical Demand/Working Conditions:
* Must be able to work in variable weather conditions
* Physical strength and dexterity to lift, move, and handle equipment.
* Stamina to deal with long hours standing or walking.
* Must be able to climb high altitudes on ladders.
* Ability to work in extreme hot or cold conditions.
* Must be able to work in both very hot (more than 100 degrees) and very cold (less than 20 degrees below zero) and in a very wet and humid environment for extended periods of time. Exposed to noise/vibration, and chemicals.
* Required to Stand, walk, climb, bend, twist, push and pull, and reach above and below the shoulder.
* Repetition-Hand/Wrist Simple Grasping, Firm grasping.
