Job Summary

The Cardiology Procedure Technician I works within our monitor or pacemaker department. They are responsible for a variety of Cardiology tasks.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

* Applying a variety of cardiac monitors
* Provides technical instruction for patients and/or families regarding the device. (i.e. how the device functions, technical troubleshooting, holter monitor, event monitor, mobile cardiac telemetry and 24-hour blood pressure monitor.)
* Cleaning monitors
* Maintaining a log of monitors and / or recording monitor data in a database on SharePoint.
* Demonstrates the ability to generate diagnostic information for physician interpretation.
* Scan holter monitors.
* Assists with clerical duties in Cardiac Device Clinic.
* Schedules appointments within electronic medical record.
* Makes all attempts to meet the customer's expectations.
* Completes department required training, (i.e. basic EKG course).
* Independently performs EKGs.
* Works collaboratively with all staff.
* All other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements

Required:

Education - High School Diploma/GED Equivalent in General Studies

Preferred:

Experience - 1+ years of EKG/EEG/ECG Experience

Education - Associates degree in Related Field

Physical Requirements:

Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
