The Assistant Director for Student Leadership and Engagement position is a vital position within the Student Leadership and Engagement team. This position is a 12-month position that reports to the Director for Student Leadership and Engagement within the Student Life Division of the university. The Division of Student Life seeks to foster an intentional campus community focused on integrating Christian faith, living, and learning and the Office of Student Leadership and Engagement seeks to develop student leaders who are well prepared to integrate their faith and knowledge in leadership opportunities on our campus and in the community. By recognizing that all students have the ability to influence others, the Office of Student Leadership and Engagement facilitates student involvement in campus life through a variety of programs, workshops, and organizations where they can further develop and enhance their leadership potential.

The Office of Student Leadership and Engagement is responsible for many student programs of Union, including New Student experiences like Orientation and Welcome Week, student programs like Student Activities Council, Student Government Association, and Greek Life, and university events like Homecoming Week and Variety Show. The SLE office also oversees the 90+ student organizations at Union and partners with other university departments in striving to provide a Christ-centered student culture at Union. The candidate must also be able to work with a diverse population of students, faculty, staff, and community members and assist students in integrating their faith living and learning within the Office of Student Leadership and Engagement. This position provides a great opportunity for the Assistant Director to grow as a leader while also providing important mentorship and leadership to many students. It is essential that the person who serves in this position has a servant's heart, is a team player, and excels at leading many different meaningful student programs.
