Join us as we work towards meeting and exceeding the growing needs of our diverse communities, further our lifesaving strategic goals in a rapidly changing environment, and expand our impact on the local, national, and global communities we serve.

New York Blood Center Enterprises (NYBCe) is one of the largest nonprofit, independent, community blood centers in the world.

Through corporate and institutional collaboration and funding from the Rockefeller Foundation, NYBCe was incorporated in 1959 and opened its doors in Manhattan in 1964 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation to provide its community with the highest-quality transfusion and related products and services.

Today, NYBCe collects and distributes human blood, conducts basic and applied research, and provides public and professional educational activities in the field of transfusion medicine.

NYBCe serves as a vital community lifeline dedicated to helping patients and advancing global public health through its four-part mission:

  1. To provide the highest quality blood and stem cell products and related medical and consultative services to hospitals and patients.
  2. To conduct the highest quality, novel, and innovative research in the fields of hematology, blood banking and transfusion medicine, and cellular therapies, thus advancing these fields and positively impacting the public health.
  3. To develop products, technologies, and services in the fields of hematology, blood banking, transfusion medicine, and cellular therapies with the potential to have worldwide humanitarian impact.
