We are looking for a research technician with molecular experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to attain high independence in a new and dynamic research environment. In this role, the individual will conduct a variety of experiments, including cell culture, sequencing, histology, animal handling, and microscopy.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Performs immunohistochemistry and microscopy.

2. Maintains tissue cultures and performs molecular biology techniques, including sequencing, genotyping, PCR

3. Handle animals (including stereotactic surgeries).

4. Record data, summarize, and analyze results using basic statistics.

5. Prepares laboratory reagents, chemicals, instruments, and equipment.

6. Discuss the progress of work regularly with the supervisor.

7. All other duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

BS in biological/physical science required.

Ideally, 1-2 years of previous experience in a research environment

SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

1. Good organizational skills, detail-oriented

2. Sound degree of computer literacy

3. Ability to methodically record data and analyze data using basic statistics.

4. Ability to perform a variety of routine tests and prioritize work

5. Good interpersonal and communication skills

6. Ability to demonstrate professionalism

Working conditions

* May require work in an environment where animals are used for research.
* Position may sometimes require the employee to work with or be in areas with hazardous materials.
