POSITION PURPOSE:

Responsible for coordination of the EMS (Paramedic) Program, the EMT Program and all applicable Continuing Education classes.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Responsible for coordination of the Navarro College EMT and Paramedic programs and all applicable continuing education classes.
* Responsible for increasing the overall student enrollment in each program.
* Responsible for the overall pass rate on certification exams.
* Responsible for recruiting and sustaining students in each individual program.
* Responsible for recruiting and maintaining a staff of knowledgeable and personable instructors.
* Must be able to communicate with students and prospective students in a courteous and effective manner.
* Support Dean of Workforce, Career and Technical Education in managing personnel (including input for evaluations, payroll, etc.) to maintain the integrity of the program and the reputation of the college.
* Must be able to schedule multiple classes into a limited supply of classrooms from the EMS (Paramedic) Program, and EMT Program as well as continuing education classes required for continued certification.
* Must communicate with the Department of State Health Services regarding the Emergency Medical Services programs at Navarro College.
* Responsible for securing all equipment and supplies for all programs.
* Facilitate an Advisory Board that includes local EMS and other medical personnel in addition to community leaders.
* Assist in preparation and evaluation of the curriculum to meet the Department of State Health Services, the Coordinating Board and Navarro College guidelines.
* Assist in preparation of annual budget for approval and manage all expenses associated with the EMS (Paramedic) Program and the EMT Program.
* Teach classes as assigned.
* Other duties as assigned.

* Commitment to the concepts of institutional effectiveness and the ability to provide leadership in planning and evaluation of EMT and EMS (Paramedic) programs.
* Possession of adequate computer skills and ability to use current software packages.
* Skilled in monitoring and evaluating professional and support staff; developing strategic plans; developing and administering budgets; solving problems; mediating conflicts; developing, implementing and evaluating services and/or programs and program curricula; giving presentations; and communicating and using interpersonal skills with students, co-workers, supervisors, general public, and others.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

* Bachelor's Degree.
* Must possess an Advanced Coordinator Certification from the Texas Department of State Health Services.
* Must be a certified Paramedic.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

* Teach when necessary in the absence of instructors or as needed with continuing education courses.
* Travel between campuses and to clinical sites will be required.
* Variances from regular working hours may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
* Busy working environment with numerous interruptions.

SALARY: $65,000. annually (This is a 12 month position to be paid over 12 months)
