About the Opportunity:∙ Job Title: Lead Electrical Engineer ∙ Pay: $75,000/Annually∙ Location: Monticello, MN∙ Schedule: 1st Shift, Mon-Fri 7AM-4PM or 8AM-5PM. Daily functions:
  1. Work with internal and external design resources to develop and apply microcontroller-based control systems to electrical boilers, integrated hybrid hydronic systems and plenum heaters, ensuring all safety, performance, manufacturability, cost, and compliance targets are achieved.
  2. Specify and help select appropriate components and methods for load switching, temperature sensing, flow sensing, zone control, water-pumping, air-moving and other features/functions specific to electric-heat based boiler, integrated hybrid hydronic systems and warm-air appliances.
  3. Breakdown product requirements into design specifications and lead cross-functional teams through the product development process to assure design decisions are collaborative, clear, and timely and all key product/project metrics are achieved.
  4. Conduct thorough testing and validation of control systems to ensure compliance with safety standards, performance requirements, and customer expectations.
  5. Troubleshoot and debug control system issues during development, testing, and post-production phases, implementing effective solutions to resolve technical challenges.
  6. Provide technical support to internal teams and external stakeholders, including customers and partners, regarding control system and appliance functionality, operation, and troubleshooting.
  7. Participate in design reviews, project meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize control system design processes and enhance overall product quality.
  8. Provide technical oversight for field testing of new appliances and unique control features to ensure proper functioning and smooth transitions of newly designed products into the market.  
Desired qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
  2. 3+ years of experience in designing and implementing microcontroller-based control systems for electrical systems, preferably in the HVAC industry.
  3. Prior supervisory experience.
  4. Strong Understanding of control theory, signal processing, and feedback control systems. 
  5. Sufficient proficiency in microcontroller programming languages, such as C/C++, and embedded systems development tools that minor firmware modifications can be made during validation testing or to enhance system performance. 
  6. Experience with electronic hardware testing, simulation tools, and data acquisition systems.
  7. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
  8. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment and interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
  9. Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations, such as UL, ANSI, CE, pertaining to electrical heating systems and control systems design.
