Hybrid Bilingual Japanese Real Estate Development Manager

OverviewOur client, a U.S.-based real estate development company with cross-border investment activities, is seeking a Bilingual Japanese Real Estate Development Manager to join their U.S. team in El Segundo, CA.In this full-time, hybrid role, you will lead real estate acquisitions and development projects, manage local partners, and serve as a liaison with international leadership, including Japan. The ideal candidate has strong U.S. real estate experience, excellent project management skills, and fluency in English with conversational Japanese for cross-border collaboration.Want to make an application Make sure your CV is up to date, then read the following job specs carefully before applying.Must-Have RequirementsProfessional experience in real estate development, investment, acquisitions, or project management in the U.S.Valid authorization to work in the United StatesFluent in English; Japanese proficiency sufficient for communication (business-level not required)Strong financial modeling, underwriting, and analytical skills (Excel, Argus, or equivalent)Proven ability to negotiate with partners and independently manage projectsBachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, or related fieldPreferred:Experience at a developer, investment firm, fund, or institutional owner/operatorCross-border or Japan-related transaction experienceExposure to multiple asset types (residential, office, industrial, hospitality, mixed-use)MBA or relevant certificationsResponsibilitiesInvestment & DevelopmentSource and evaluate new development and acquisition opportunities in the U.S.Conduct financial modeling, feasibility studies, underwriting, and risk analysisLead due diligence with legal, financial, and technical advisorsPrepare investment proposals and internal approval materialsProject & Partner ManagementManage relationships with developers, brokers, consultants, and JV partnersNegotiate contracts and project termsOversee budgets, timelines, and deliverablesCoordinate with internal and external stakeholdersCross-Border CoordinationProvide project updates, reports, and investment memos for international leadershipFacilitate communication between U.S. operations and Japan teamsSupport alignment on strategy, decisions, and project executionLocation & CompensationLocation: El Segundo, CA (Hybrid: on-site + remote)Employment Type: Full-timeSalary: $150,000 – $180,000 (based on experience and qualifications)Visa Support: Not availableWork Hours: Monday – FridayBenefitsStandard U.S. benefits package (details provided during the interview process)Paid time off (PTO) and holidaysStable, growing company with cross-border development opportunitiesRemote working/work at home options are available for this role.
