Our IFP/IFR program is continuing to grow, so we are seeking to add more Mental Health Therapist to provide skill-building interventions to a specific target population of families.
The goal of the IFP/IFR Therapist is to keep children at home in a safe, stable, and nurturing family environment, improve parenting capacity and family functioning, improve children’s well-being, and prevent unnecessary placement and/or safely facilitate the reunification of children with their families.
Must have reliable transportation, and be willing to travel between Omaha and Lincoln for in-home family therapy sessions. Some sessions will be in-home, some will be remote
You will report to the IFP/IFR Clinical Director
We offer above market pay, and mileage reimbursement. Requirements:
- IFP/IFR Therapist Must hold an active LMHP, or PLMHP or equivalent.
- Interns are encouraged to apply
- A Blessing of Hope Family Services will also consider individuals who are Master’s Degree Level in Counseling and/or Social Work, and have completed all of the enrolled educational institution’s required classes to be able to obtain internship hours.
Responsibilities:
- Provide crisis intervention and support to children and families in need
- Conduct assessments to determine the needs and risks of children and families
- Develop and implement individualized service plans for clients
- Collaborate with other professionals, such as social workers and behavioral health specialists, to coordinate services
- Monitor progress and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions
- Advocate for the rights and well-being of children and families
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all interactions and interventions
Experience:
- Previous experience in childcare, crisis management, or related fields is preferred
- Knowledge of child protective services and child welfare systems
- Familiarity with motivational interviewing techniques
- Strong understanding of behavioral health principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively manage conflicts and diffuse tense situations
