We started as a 2-bay shop and have grown into a fully equipped 6-bay facility right on Grand Avenue, on the road to Aspen. Frequent check-ins your first month and a meet-and-greet team lunch so you’re not “the new person” for long.* Good people, good foodTwice-monthly group lunches (ordered in, grilling at the shop, or going out), a Christmas party, and a summer party to celebrate the wins together.*TOOLS, TECH & FACILITY** Fully equipped, modern shop* Factory GM and Ford scan tools* Snap-On Zeus and Verdict scan tools* Hunter 24-ft, 14k lb alignment rack* AutoVitals DVIs on tablets (every tech uses one)* All specialty tools provided – you bring your core tool set* Comfortable work environment* Heated and air-conditioned shop* Clean uniforms provided and laundered* Break area with refrigerator, microwave, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate* Vehicle mix* All domestic, Asian, and Japanese, model year 2000 and newer* No Audi or VW work*PAY, SCHEDULE & BENEFITS** $30.00–$40.00 per hour (hourly), depending on experience* $40.00–$55.00 per flat rate hour, depending on experience and productivity* Option to move to a hybrid pay plan if you prefer* Paid time off* Paid holidays*Benefits** Health insurance: 50% of employee premium paid by the shop after 90 days* Optional dental/vision plan available (around $30/month)* IRA with 3% company match after 3 years* Christmas bonus that grows with your tenure* Yearly pay reviews* Training & growth* Company-paid continuing education* Local training through parts distributors (Eagle CO to Grand Junction CO, about 5 classes per year)* Shop pays for additional automotive training you’re willing to commit to* ASE test fees covered*WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING** Diagnosing and repairing a wide range of drivability, electrical, and general repair concerns* Confidently reading and using wiring diagrams to track down electrical issues* Using factory scan tools, Snap-On equipment, and information systems like Identifix and Alldata for accurate testing and repair* Performing alignments on a Hunter rack is a plus* Completing digital vehicle inspections with photos and clear notes on a tablet* Helping keep vehicles clean and protected with seat covers, floor mats, and attention to detail* xhuatnn Working closely with the service advisor and your teammates to keep workflow smooth and customers happy*WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR** Strong diagnostic and electrical skills – you’re comfortable with wiring diagrams and methodical testing* Experience in professional automotive repair (independent or dealership)* Ability to consistently hit or beat book time without cutting corners* ASE certifications, or a clear plan to get and maintain them (shop supports testing and training)* Team-oriented mindset, good communication, and pride in quality work* Valid driver’s license and clean driving recordIf you’re an experienced technician who enjoys diagnosing tough problems, wants a steady, well-equipped shop, and likes the idea of working in a mountain town where customers know your name, Jim’s Automotive could be your next long-term home.
