*Job Functions*

1) Delivers direct patient care. Assesses patient’s status and informs provider of patient’s needs. Responds to phone messages and provides patient and family education.

2) Prepares patients for procedures and assists provider when applicable. Administers treatment per physician orders.

3) Orders diagnostic tests and schedules surgeries at the hospital and obtains insurance prior-authorizations as needed.

4) Ensures confidential communication flow between provider and patient. Triage patient’s calls and complete requests for medication refills.

5) Tracks patient tests results and follows-up with patient.

6) Documents appropriately and thoroughly in electronic patient medical record in a timely manner.

7) Assist the office with clinical research studies in accordance with local, state and federal regulations. Ensures all safety processes are followed, documented and reports any adverse events.

*Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities*

1) Effectively communicates with patients, coworkers and vendors.

2) Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner

3) Manages difficult or emotional patient situations.

4) Adapts to changes in the workplace and competing priorities.

5) Active team player.

6) Proficient in keyboarding and windows-based software.

7) Competent in using office machines such as copiers, printers, faxes and scanners.

*Minimum Qualifications*

1)Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred with graduation from an accredited school of nursing*.*

2) Nursing license granted by the State of Nebraska or a compact state.

3) Minimum of 1 years of nursing experience in a physician office.

4) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

*Physical Demands/Work Environment*

Intermittent and/or frequent physical activity including walking, sitting, standing, reaching, bending and lifting up to 25 pounds. Exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues or infectious materials or illness in the working environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $32.00 - $37.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
