As a Property Accountant, your primary responsibilities include making journal entries, reconciling bank statements, preparing financial statements, managing accounts receivable, and handling daily and monthly cash disbursements and receipts.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Reconcile Accounts Receivable, security deposits, and rent rolls to ensure accuracy in financial statements for all properties.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports, which include journal entries, financial statements, and bank reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets by gathering key assumptions and capital budget information.
  • Analyze general ledger accounts and review ledger accuracy.
  • Manage cash functions effectively.
  • Research and respond to inquiries from Property Managers concerning tenant statements.
What You Should Bring:
  • Knowledge of real estate databases and transaction processes, including contract reviews.
  • Understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Experience in accounting for multifamily real estate.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
